HERA is an independent research association that is the national centre of excellence in Heavy Engineering research. We are global leaders in construction 4.0 and fabrication 4.0 research.
Our research spans all aspects of heavy engineering, including structural steel (including stainless steel) fabrication, welding, quality, productivity, decarbonisation and design.
HERA is leading the $10.3 million Endeavour project titled “Construction 4.0 – an industry 4.0 transformation in the Aotearoa New Zealand construction sector”. We have the Fab4.0Lab, a national centre of excellence in industry 4.0 technologies for fabrication and are developing a Tabs4.0Lab, which will be a national centre of excellence in building health monitoring.
We offer a range of training, consulting and research services relating to heavy engineering, structural steel engineering, welding, fabrication, steel construction, steel fabrication and decarbonisation. We collaborate with a range of global leading research organisations. We collaborate with Callaghan Innovation to offer SIRI assessments.
