Impacting the world's pressing problems
My track record working in science and innovation includes new product development for technology companies and, more recently, funding organisations. I work with LEAN methodologies to create learning organisations and have a particular interest in work involving environmental and social good. As a Navigator, I strive to provide specific, relevant, and practical help to entrepreneurs that can advance their ventures.
In my view society needs innovative solutions to the world's most pressing problems like climate change. Since I can't solve them myself, I work for an organisation that can have a greater impact. Sir Paul Callaghan had immense practical insight, and I am grateful that he took responsibility to communicate his views widely. This has built the innovation ecosystem New Zealand enjoys today.
I get deep satisfaction each time I provides value that my customers didn’t expect. Clients often say, "that was so helpful", or "I didn't expect you would be able to do so much", and "you've really opened my eyes", which show the impact our work at Callaghan Innovation can have.
