Advisor to over 10,000 businesses
I work as a Navigator guiding customer businesses towards the relevant resource at the right time. Many are aiming to solve global challenges and problems. Some of them have the potential to transform for the better the way we all live and work. My key skill is being able to distil complex subject matter down to its core components, which is useful when dealing with the innovations we encounter at Callaghan Innovation. It's about knowing just enough to point business owners in the right direction.
I take inspiration from Steve Jobs who simplified technology to the point where it could be understood and used by anyone without the need for a user manual. My favourite Steve Jobs quote (borrowed from Leonardo Da Vinci) is: "Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication".
My long career working as a growth advisor means I have seen first hand what works and what doesn't in over 10,000 businesses. These interactions enable me to pass on general insights to other businesses. A business owner said to me "Thirty minutes speaking with you has given me greater insights into my business than I've heard in the last 10 years". Sometimes it's the small bits of inspiration we provide that give the most satisfaction.
