The Research and Development Tax Incentive (RDTI) was created to give you - the inspirational Kiwi innovator - financial support as you navigate technical and scientific challenges, and look to change the world with your new ideas and concepts.
If the research and development (R&D) that you’re undertaking is eligible, you can claim a tax credit worth 15% of the overall eligible cost.
We know the credit not only eases financial pressures, but also acknowledges the R&D efforts going on behind the scenes - efforts which are playing a positive part in creating a better Aotearoa New Zealand for all.
As with all things tax related, the admin can get a little complicated or confusing. So, we’ve established a dedicated team to help you with bespoke support ahead of your submission. The team is made up of RDTI experts, who are well versed in the scheme, along with scientific and technical experts who have a deep understanding of R&D.
Our Engagement team will help you understand all the eligibility criteria, ensure you’re collecting the right information and lend a guiding hand as you progress towards filing your application. Once your application is submitted our Assessment team, a separate independent group of scientific and technical experts from the Engagement team will review your application.
With your R&D goals and aspirations in mind, we’ll help get you set up so future applications are as easy as possible.
Every business is different, so we tailor our support depending on your needs. Whatever your preferred communications channel or meeting format is, we can make it work. Support is available all year round, so you can beat the end of the tax year rush.
Best of all, the service is free. No unexpected consultancy fees or expenses.
