Congratulations 2022 Hi-Tech Awards finalists!

The NZ Hi-Tech Awards celebrate the success of New Zealand’s producers of goods and services from the software, electronics, telecommunications, mobile, agritech, creative and other hi-tech industries. The awards, now in their 27th year, are run by the NZ Hi-Tech Trust, a not-for-profit organisation aimed at promoting and supporting the wider tech industry.

    A record number of new companies entered the 2022 NZ Hi-Tech Awards, from across Aotearoa and from all areas of the hi-tech sector. This wide range of high calibre entrants is reflected in the line-up of finalists this year. David Downs, Chair of the NZ Hi-Tech Trust, says the standard of entries continues to grow every year as does the overall interest in the awards.

    Callaghan Innovation congratulates all this year’s NZ Hi-Tech Awards finalists, including those in our sponsored category – Hi-Tech Kamupene Māori o te Tau – Māori Company of the Year Award 2022.

    Recognising our Māori te hiringa o te hunga auaha (inspiring innovators) 

    Finalists in the category this year are:

    Tanya Wilson, Business and Relationship Manager of the Māori Economy at Callaghan Innovation, says the finalists in this category once again demonstrate the extraordinary breadth of technical innovative global solutions across a range of industries and sectors in the Māori Economy. 

    “It’s so exciting to see so many incredible Māori innovators developing tech solutions that have the wellbeing of people and the planet at the core. The world is now looking to Aotearoa for these types of innovations.”

    “This year’s finalists are using scalable technology to grow new and exciting industries. They range all the way from Aquatech and Envirotech, through to tech with tikanga and Software-as-a-Service applications. These finalists also lead technical tendering and procurement solutions that can be seen in projects such as green infrastructure, environmental stewardship and kaitiakitanga, and mobile workers to name a few.”

    The 2022 Hi-Tech Award winners will be announced on 5 August 2022, at the TSB Arena, Wellington.
