The Government has announced that Callaghan Innovation is to be disestablished, as part of its reform of the science, innovation and technology system.

What's in this article

It will take some months to work through the process of disestablishment and change will happen at pace.

We are currently awaiting confirmation of the Government’s intentions as to which of our functions it wants to retain and transfer to other existing (or new) entities and which of our functions will be fully shutdown.

Our immediate priority is to support our Callaghan Innovation people at this time. We will also engage directly with our customers as we work through the process of disestablishment.

We acknowledge that the disestablishment of Callaghan Innovation creates uncertainty for our staff, customers and other partners. We appreciate your patience as we focus first on supporting our people to understand what this means for them and as we work through the disestablishment process.

Callaghan Innovation’s Board and management are committed to clear and open communication and will ensure our people, customers and other partners receive timely updates throughout the process of winding up the organisation.
